  • Cleaning the Roof??

How do you guys clean your roofs? I have a 96 civic and cleaning the roof was a total pain. I know I couldn't get the pressure needed to really work in my #83 and #80.

I was on a small step ladder, but I couldn't get a good angle on the PC.

    Comments and suggestions welcome.

I opened the doors, then moved the stool up real close. I had one foot on the seat and one on the stool. I agree; it is a majorly awkward position. That was my Accord. I have no idea how I'm going to do my Odyssey minivan.

In addition to the suggestion above.... If you are frequently going to be needing something, Cosco makes some very nice ladders with little standing platforms for easy working. Something like below, fairly inexpensive(around $35-$40 at walmart).

I use a pair of folding work platforms. I can't post a link/pic as I only have a commercial link, but if you do an internet search for "Bauer 20900 Fold-N-Carry Work Platform " you oughta turn up something. There are cheaper alternatives, but I prefer this one.

            I'm a short Asian

So I guess I'll end up opening the doors and buying a decent step ladder.

Thanks for your suggestions. The roof got no real love b/c I'm too short.

Just do what I did... buy a vehicle without a roof! The tC's roof is made completely of glass, so I don't have to worry about polishing.

In all seriousness, though, I always use a small stepping stool. It has worked for the cars I've detailed. My last two vehicles were trucks, so I just had to stand in the bed and I could access 90% of the roof, the rest of the time I stood awkwardly on a stool.
