  • Advice on detailing a brand new car

I have not had a chance to detail a completely new vehicle since I discovered this site and bought my G-100, so this is a first for me

So I now have a beautiful fresh new canvas to work with and would like to know how I should start off.

I think I have the first and last steps, but not sure of the middle step or steps

I plan on starting off with a good wash and then clay, followed with another wash to make sure the surface is completely clean.

I also planned on finishing with 2 coats of NXT applied 24 hours apart.

Now, what should be the middle step?

    I have both 80 and 83.

After washing, do I need to first use the 83 and then the 80, or is the 83 too much for the new surface?

Should I skip the 83 and go from wash to 80, then top with 2 coats of NXT?

Or should I skip both 80 and 83 and go with a pure polish such as 07?

Nobody can anwser your questions for you but you...

After washing and claying you need examine the paint for youself. If there is no marring, then there is no need to use a cleaner/polish.

If there is light marring, then try #80 first to see if you can remove it. If the #80 works, then you can stop there. If it doesn't, then hit it with #83, then #80.

You see, everycar requires a different approach, and there is no right approach anyways. I would detail a new car like detailing anyother car. Evaluate the surface, then use the least agressive method to get the results you want. Then seal them in with a quality sealent/wax...

Also, before you apply the NXT, do a small section with #7 and see if it makes an improvement. If it does, then do the whole car, if it doesn't, go straight to NXT.
Let's make all of the cars shiny!
