Utterly confused

I used to just buy turtle wax polish and car shampoo.

dead easy.

but i really want to use this megs stuff as it so popular and gets such good result's

but i dont know where to start

you guys are saying things like #80 and #4 and stuff what does this mean??

is there a normal megs polish i can use or will i not get the results.

Is there any dangers in using these methods you guys are using i dont want to ruin my car.

and what products should i use and what do they do.


Sorry for the troublesome post but im baffled lol i hope you guys expertise can help me find the light

If you want some product ideas, you can tell us a bit about your goals. If you want the best looks with a full process, quick and easy with really good looks, etc, etc. And the condition as well of the paint, is it pretty good, brand new, etc?

The products with #'s are in the professional line. The Consumer Line is probably easiest to get started with. That would be the Deep Crystal System, Cleaner/Wax, and ColorX, Nxt Wax and Gold Class Wax. So looking at it that way, there is only a few products to worry about.

I still consider myself a non-pro when it comes to detailing. I have decided to stick to the consumer line products and apply everything by hand. My car has some swirls but I am content with them. Most around here seem to have a machine and it gets better and faster results (and they can tell you more about that). But just remember the 5 step process and quality Meguiar's products.

I am not a pro, but i am starting to detail more and more cars...for free , i just detailed a co-workers 95 prelude, which came out 85% swirl free ( i think some of them were RIDS) and today i have a civic detail...i need time to do my own, its needing some Gold Class loving

I use
G12664 Nxt generation car wash
G1116 Quick clay detailing system kit
A3016A Deep crystal paint cleaner
A2116 Deep crystal Polish
A2216 Deep crystal carnauba wax

I apply them all with
AG1015 Lambs wool Mitt (car wash)
Appad applicator pad (everything else)

and wipe off with either
AG3030 microwipe polishing cloth
100% terry toweling (can't remember the part number)
depending on what the instructions tell me to use.
