  • Sealant for wheels

Ok, I've done some searches on WB and finally decided to get it. I've also read some posts about sealing the wheels after using WB to make them easier to clean. What do guys use/recommend to seal the wheels with? I'll be using it on CC aluminum wheels.

Something synthetic, like Nxt, #20, #21.

#21 is one of my favorites, but whichever one is up to you.

I just got some Detailer's Pride Wheel Glaze. I'll let you know how it works out. The wheels are very "busy"-lots of places to stick your fingers in, etc., so it was kind of a pain. THe idea is that stuff, including brake dust, is supposed to wash off easier (without using cleaner or it will take off the glaze), and I suppose protect the finish from stuff bonding to it(?). Anyway, thats the marketing ploy I fell for--there were also some recommendations from a couple of people I have come to give some credibility to, FWIW.

The Poorboy's Wheel sealant is a pure sealant (wax) with no cleaners so this is what I bought and I just recieved it today. I plan on using Meguiar's Multipiece Rim wash, then my Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, and then the Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. I like applying single step products Im a profectionist lol.

I have used NXT many times on my wheels and its worked well, I have not tried #21 on my wheels(I have on my truck) yet but I plan to change over to it.

I agree. I just don't see a need for a dedicated wheel wax or sealant. I happen to use #20 currently but that's only because it's what I'm using on my paint these days.

I just washed one of my cars this morning and decided to try something different with regard to washing the wheels. Rather than use a wheel cleaner and brush before washing the rest of the car, this time I washed the entire car then hit the wheels with an old lambswool wash mitt and the remains of the Gold Class wash in my bucket. With a coating of #20 on them they came out super clean with virtually no effort.
