18 year old paint, scratches, swirls, bird poop

Attached are 2 pictures that I took today after washing the car last night. The car has light scratches, white spots and one nasty looking blemish from a bird dropping. I have waxxed the car using cleaner, polish and wax and although it feels smooth and the sides are great the top sides have seem 18 years of abuse and it shows. I have thought about claying, but wonder if this is the right way to go. any advice is appreciated. i will be sure to post results once I am done.

I would def. clay the car if its never been clayed in 18yrs. Clay does wonders. Also look into ColorX.
