  • Simplify the numbers - comparson???

    Ok ok... brain overload.
I see all these numbers, comparisons between GC and NXT... Carnauba vs. synthetic... better for light paint vs. dark paint. Different carnaubas? Sheeting? Cleaner? ahhhgrrrrr...

has anyone ever though of putting all these products into an easy to read chart...so that us newbie’s can easily distinguish between products?

Most of the threads are car specific and unless your paint finish and location mimics theirs - the advice/product might not produce similar results.

I'd like to see a spreadsheet - listing all the waxes/polishes by number alongside the GC and NXT stuff. From some threads it looks like #26 is the same as GC and #7 is the same as NXT? Anyways, you get the idea. Another chart putting the detailer/vinyl cleaner/conditioners together… etc

Don’t get me wrong, there’s tons of information and reviews…unfortunately that’s the problem – too much info… its hard to decide what to buy.

I like to make a purchase based research and right now there are too many combinations and its hard to set them apart. Visually some chart would help a lot. Grouping similar items together.

Just to get u started, no one else has come up with a better one, including all Megs products I too would want to see it done
For those of you hearing all the slang and Meguiar's numbers floating around, I hope this will help. I wanted to post this in the Professional Line forum or the pro detailer's forum, but HTML is OFF in both of them. <Table border=1 width=100%><COL ALIGN=CENTER> <COL ALIGN=CENTER> <COL ALIGN=CENTER>

I know what you mean.. One of the best things about Meguiars is the options... for a new person, the worst thing is the options.

As far as being car specific, thats actualy not often the case. Unless you have a very specialized situation, what works on a white car will work on a red car, work on a green car, a black car etc, etc. Even the hardness of paint isnt going to really change what you use, just how long things take, and what results to expect at first.

      For what its worth:

#26 and Gold Class are similar - Carnuba blend waxes

Nxt and #21 are similar - Synthetic Waxes

      #7, DC#2, #5, #81 are Pure Polishes.

I guess the easiest thing is to learn general trends, or tell us the properties, etc you like, and we can steer you pretty close, until you get the hang of everything.

But dont worry, keep asking away...
