  • Dash protectant question

    Hey Everybody

i just bought an Acura RSX Type S and a portion of the dash is made of some kind of textured stuff. Since it is new i dont want to ruin it : ) Does anyone have experience with what type of cleaner and protectant can be used on this. I asked a few people at the dealer and they seem to have different opinions

    thanks

Nxt Tech Protect or Nxt Cockpit Shine

If you want it to look natural, perhaps the natural rubber and vinal protectant.

I just bought a 2006 Honda Civic and it too has a textured dash. I use Nxt Tech Protect as it will protect vinyl. I spray it into an Even Coat Applicator so I don't splatter onto the windows then smooth it on. It's pretty shiny at first but it dissapates to a more satin finish after a few days and it looks great in my opinion. Besides the looks, it is supposed to protect. Actually, I use this all over the vinyl in the car. It just gives it that "detailed" look plus is smells great.

You dash is part smooth vinyl and part textrued vinyl? Or some kind of rubber/plastic inserts?

Either way, the Nxt Tech Protectant will work great.

I spray it on a MF cloth, wipe around, wait 5-10 minutes, then come back and buff off excess.

NXT Tech Protect will work great on the smooth and textured vinyl. I spray it on a MF towel, apply it on the vinyl and let it soak for a few minute and wipe it off. Your dash will look better than new and its protected too,

Also, you guys haven't thought about the products
Quick Interior Detailer Mist and wipe
            -or-
            Quik Interior Detailer Wipes

Both are great products and don't leave any shine at all but are so great and easy to use.

Depending on the condition of the interior I would start off by using #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. Then I would follow-up with #40 Vinyl & Rubber Cleaner/Conditioner. I've done this process on many cars. Over and over again customers are surprised at the results of what looks to be a "like new" interior. You'll especially like this combination if your interior has little to no sheen on it.
