Oops, the newby has another question: is there any special consideration for cleaning/polishing the sun-roof, or do I just treat it like the other windows? I would like it to really shine!

If its glass like most sunroofs, just use the glass cleaner on it. I have a glass one and thats what i use.

You can use a glass cleaner on the glass, and you can wax it or RainX it.
Then use a trim detailor on the rubber/plastic around the edges like the rest of your car.
EDIT:
