  • How neccessary is #7 on top of #83/80...

    on a daily driver!?

Am i too car crazy to think that i should apply #7 to my old beater daily driver?? At first i thought it was neccessary, but then again when i read all of the amazing details done on this forum most people just do an 83/80 combo and top it off with an LSP.

Will #7 make a big difference if I used #83/#80 before that? How long do the affect does #7 last on a daily driver?

    Thanks

I hate to give you this anwser (as I perfer definitive anwsers myself) but you best bet is to try it out and see what you think/notice.

There are so many factors that would affect whether it makes a difference that it is impossible to give a blanket statement. 80 leaves a very wet/dark apperance which 7 may boost slightly (or may not). Its all in the eye of the beholder. And assusming 7 does boost appearance, is the extra time worth that extra boost?

From my understanding, 80 features the same oils that are found in 7, or basically the same...

Been there, done that and stopped. #7 was my go to product. After using #83/#80 or #80 alone, I feel comfortable to go on to the LSP. Now if you have extra time to spend go for #7. I like the warmth #7 gives.

As for how long #7 lasts... How often do you wax and touch up your vehicles surface? I would wax about once every 3-4 weeks when I was using #7.

You could use #83/80 to prep the surface, then the next few details use #7. This way #83/80 are only being used as needed rather than with each detail.

thanks for the quick replies guys

I think ill apply #7 and see how it goes. It doesnt take MUCH time anyways, and if the difference is really that much, ill keep using it. Otherwise, if the effect doesnt turn out to last very long and/or isnt much of a difference, ill save the #7 for the weekend cars.

I think it depends on the individual as to whether it looks better or not. The difference is small but I can see a small improvement.
Example of what I'm talking about is the guys that use Zaino they really like the look but I don't like the sterile look it looks like the shine is laying on top of the paint. Even NXT or for that matter no sealant can match the depth of a quality carnuba wax.
The sealant is more durable and has outstanding gloss but when topped with carnuba to my eye it looks better.
You may see a noticeable difference and maybe not.
Try it and decide if you think it is worth the extra effort.
