  • #7 on top of NXT or vice versa??

I am preparing to "re-do" our Dark Bowling Green Corvette this long weekend and want to ask the experts opinion. I plan on going over the entire car with #9, then #7, and finish with NXT. I have read some people put #7 on top of NXT (or Gold Class or 26 - your choice). To me this seems like a waste - would the #7 penetrate the wax or sealant? What would be the benefit in doing it in this order?

Some people find that putting a polish on top of a wax, or a polish alone, give a wetter look.

Now, if you stopped at the polish, there would be no protection. If you put the polish on top, it will wear off very quickly, and I do not know how it would affect the wax underneath.

Basicaly, this sort of thing would be done to show cars, ones that arent going to see any weather.

I put a layer of #7 ontop of a wax for special occasions when I want a wetter look from paintwork. Its non-abbrassive and has no cleaning power IIRC, so should not affect the wax coating underneath. Will only last a day with no protection put back on top, or until it rains but its great for special days. Top it with a wax to seal in the shine - #26 works really well with #7.
