A guy asked me this question, so I thought I would pass it along and see if there is a proof that the oils condition and mostiurize paint?

I'm taking off for a week's vacation so I don't have time to get into depth or babysit this thread, but one thing you have to remember is it what you can or cannot do with paint depends on the paint.
Brand new paint, or paint in brand new shape doesn't need to be conditioned because it's brand new. It's also very impermeable so everything you do to it is pretty much topical. As paint gets older and sees wear and tear it become more permeable and then you can start to do more things to it like condition it.
So try to keep in reference what kind of paint you're working on.
Now off for a vacation....
