i know you should tape off, what i have done in the past is take a q tip and go along in the crackes and get the excess, around the hood cracks.
my question is when you tape off how do u get the area of paint by the cracks nice and good looking like the rest of teh car when its been taped off and without getting into the cracks. or is it just gonna happen and you will have to get it out any way. sorry this is just kinda hard to type up, any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know anyone else that does this but sometimes it fold the tape into a V-shape and put it in the crack. I don't usually do this because if you got any wax in the cracks you could pop the hood and wipe it

My problem isn't the cracks but the window moldings and such. Guess i have to tape off more, because i just have these dryed lines along the black molding which is a pain in the you know what to remove. Someone mentioned the qtip with rubbing alcohol to remove these, don't know if thats right though.

in the case of the windows moldings i would tape off the paint and use a window cleaner with a micfofiber and a toothpick. being carefule not to poke through the M/F

I just start at the center of the door and work my way around the moldings after the pad is not as loaded with product. Works well for me, but I do have a smudge to clean here and there.
