wax removal from plastic

I have a Ford Escape. I have always had difficulty removing wax from the plastic gray trim. Any suggestions?

Is the plastic gray trim smooth, or textured?

Yes, Meguiars #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl cleaner. It's good stuff

I just dab a little Nxt Tech Protect on a cotton towel, and rub it over the plastic trim. Removes the wax, and adds a little bit of sheen. Good stuff!
