  • Did not work

    Hi All,
I used Clay for the first time today, I must say I was amazed at what came off even after washing with the New Tech Wash. However it did not work on what I wanted it to work on. I have these spots on my engine hood...I think they were from tree sap that never got cleaned off properly. Now I am left with very noticeable whiteish spots on my black hood. I also have a bottle of deep crystal paint cleaner. Would that work on these spots?
    Any Advise would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    TJ

PS - Im trying to get photos posted to show the problem...can someone help me out with this as well??

depending on how long they've been there you could try rubbing alcohol

there was a thread about this a whil back but I cant find it. Take rubbing alcohol and soak a small towel with it and set it on the spots. Let it sit a few miniutes and check it by LIGHTLY agitating the spots. If it is sap it will take it off but there may be some etching under the sap. Be patient sometimes it takes a little bit to soften and disolve it its dried up.

The spots have been there well over a year, so what ever it was came and went and left behind these spots. I just recieved my first Megs order today. I have the Deep Crystal paint cleaner and polish, as well as Scrath X...will any of these work or is there a more agressive product out there for amatures?
Also some where down the line I plan onordering the PC...so I'm sure that will help. But for now I'm doing everything the hard way.

These surface contaminants will require a little special attention. With the length the spots have been on the surface you need to breakdown the spot. DC cleaner might not give you the result you want for that particular problem. Time to move on to another idea. The cleaner is great but as with all products it does have limits. If the spot were new maybe the cleaner would work.

            Good luck!
