  • #84 vs #85... what to get?.?.?

Im about to place a ADS order and wanted to get a bottle of something for the surfaces that will need more then the normal #83/#80 combo. Ive never used #84 or #85 and to me they seem to be similar to eachother.

What is the main difference between the two besides the obvious abrasive differences?

If I already have 80, 82, and 83.... which one would you suggest I get just to have on hand for tougher jobs? I did a white car recently and wished I had somethine more aggressive then the #83 that I had to use multiple passes with that didnt exactly get everything out.

    Thanks in advance.

I would go with the 84, it is easier to work with than the 85. The 85 is used with a wool pad.

Just to double check, how are you planning on applying the M84 and/or M85?

The reason I ask is because M84 and M85 are formulated for use with a rotary buffer, not a dual action polisher.

Dang... not for DA. That answers my question then.

What suggestions do you have for a DA then? ADSs website doesnt specify what its used with, I assumed it would be the same as the M80 and M83.

If M83 with a W-8006 foam polishing pad isn't cutting it, (no pun intended ), then read this thread and you'll find the answer you're seeking...
