Also..For real stuborn scratches...Can it be used with the PC ? If so, what pad.

The label at first was a little messed up, but nothing wrong with the product. Just dont follow the directions on the tube. Give these a read instead:

How To Remove Swirls By Hand

How to remove a defect by hand with ScratchX

As far as with a PC, it can be done, and probably with a 8006 polishing pad.

There is suposed to be a slightly new formula coming out soon, that will be a little easier to use by PC, but dont know much about it yet. The current formula can gum up a little by PC, not always the easiest to work with. But nothing wrong with trying.

The problem with the label is where the directions direct you to allow the product to dry to a haze.

      This is incorrect.

Compounds, Paint Cleaners, (ScratchX is a paint cleaner), Cleaner/Polishes and Pure Polishes don't need to dry and there is no benefit to the paint or the process if you let them dry.

Can you use Scratch X with a DA polisher? Or is that for hand use only? Are there any products you cannot use with the DA?
          Thanks

The reason that different products are meant to be used with different machines/hand is that the abrasives can break down differently, and the rate at which the product itself dries out.

You can imagine that a rotary is going to dry out a liquid/cream on a surface a lot faster than you will by hand, so the Pro-/Detailer line products tend to stay liquid and workable a bit longer.

Now, most of the products in the consumer line are geared to use by hand, so that they are easy to use/break down by hand. Using them by machine can be done, but they may also dry out/gum up before you can effectively use them.

There is nothing wrong with using a consumer line product with a machine, and works ok for many people, but you just have to know it may behave a little differntly than by hand.

Certain pad/product combinations are not recomended of course, like a 7006 pad or wool pad on the DA, using #84/85 with the Da, etc. But you will be ok to try ScratchX with the DA.
