  • new to detailing, some questions

Hello, this is my first post, I love how respectfull and helpfull this forum is!
anyhow, i just got a PC and Im looking for some product advice
here is my plan so far:
    DACP and a cutting pad
    #80 and a polishing pad
heres where i cant decide, I have some NXT liquid but im almost out.
Should i try Colorx before the LSP, and if so, do i use a finishing pad?
also what do you prefer as a LSP: #26 paste, liquid or NXT (leaning twards paste for use with the PC based on a little reading i did before posting)
VTEC: all the lag, none of the turbo

    Welcome to the forum.

Ok, first the PC isn't meant for cutting pads. So i wouldn't suggest using the cutting pad with the PC.
Second, if you are going to use 80, thats a polish/cleaner i think so using colorx also i think is overkill ( if i'm wrong someone chime in). For the wax i have only used NXT liquid with the DA but i only used it once so i don't know what is better out of the 3.

i have those sonus pads..meugiars dont reccomend you use a cutting pad, i used one on mine and got a little micro marring..but nothing that couldnt be taken care of, maybe try it on the polishing pad first to see if that works. always try the least aggresive combo first!

no need for the color x afterwards

Give these a read just in case you didnt see them...

Using the G-100 to remove swirls with the Professional Line

Here is a general process...with Meguiars pads, but Sonus would be similar I think:

          1. Wash
          2. Clay
          3. #83 DACP applied with a 8006 polishing pad
          4. #80 Speed Glaze applied with 8006 polishing pad
          5. (Optional) - #7 Show Car Glaze applied with 9006 Finishing Pad
          6. Wax - #21 Synthetic Sealant Applied with 9006 Finishing Pad - 2 coats is best of course

Hope that gives you some ideas...
