  • G100 to RPM's?

Can anyone tell me (by guess) what the RPM would be of the G100 speed settings?

I bought an oscillation sander earlier this week. It also has a speed dial like the G100 from 1-6.

Though the manual lists RPM ranges from 4500 up to 13000 which would result in this speed table:

    1: 4500 RPM
    2: 6200 RPM
    3: 7900 RPM
    4: 9600 RPM
    5: 11300 RPM
    6: 13000 RPM

Compared to the OPM speeds for the PC/g100 that's a lot more rotation. So is the RPM totally different from OPM or should I only use speed 1 / 2 on my machine when working on paint?

    (ps - I'm sure it's not a rotary buffer)

Those speeds are much greater then the PC. While not postitive I'm thinking the PC's rpm's are proboly half of that.

After doing a little research, most other buffers nex to the DAP are somewhat in the same range.

The manual has a part about polishing and it says that you should only use 1 and 2 so I'll just stick to 2 for removing swirls with #80 or #83 and use 1 to apply wax.
