  • Using Consumer- time for Pro products?

    Hi everyone!

During the last two years I have been using Meguiar's consumer products faithfully. I use my orbital buffer to do most of the work.

My waxing habits have gone from twice per year to 4 times per year using:

    - clay
    - paint cleaner
    - polish
    - wax (Gold Glass) - just tried NXT today LOVED IT!
    (1-2-3) system using GC wax

Is there any way I can elininate a few steps in this process?

I love my car, and want to make it look the best it can, but there must be a way to cut out a few steps, given my wax frequency.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

I am sure there are steps you can eliminate but, I have found doing all the steps gives you the best looking finish.

For example, you could try some #9 2.0 it both cleans and polishes but I have found a dedicated cleaner and dedicated polish seems to give a deeper looking finish. I couldn't get #9 2.0 to polish up nearly as well as #81 Hand Polish.

      Hi Pee-Wee

      Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Is your car parked outside a lot?

If your washing often, then you should be able to evaluate for bonded contaminants, if you find them clay.

After that, you should be able to skip the paint cleaning step and go right to the polish and waxing step.

like gb387 said, you might want to try the #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 This is a cleaner/polish and the polishing oils create a deep dark reflective surface. Then go right to the Tech Wax.
