  • Grit Guard - where to buy

I know you can buy this online, but does anyone know of a brick and mortar store in Southern California (preferably San Gabriel Valley) that sells grit guards over the counter?

I called Kragens and the guy didn't even know what I was talking about. He said that's not a car accessory and to try Home Depot.

I'm gonna have to go with online. You might get lucky at a PBE store, or maybe they could order one for you.

How to locate Meguiar’s Professional & Detailer products in your hometown

Just call ones in your area before you go.

Call Grit Guard and see if they have any retailers in your area.

I local PBE stock a good amont of Meg's products, and anything they don't have they can order. They usually can get it next day, and I don't pay the shipping costs..

        Give it a shot!

Thanks, all. Grit Guard isn't a meguiar's product so that's why I was thinking it would be hard to get at a PBE. Also, I did try to call Grit Guard three or four times but each time got a recording telling me all their people were busy and to leave a message. I did e-mail them and ask if there were any local dealers but in the meantime I thought I'd check on this board because if anyone would know, you folks would!

ADS has a pretty good price but the website says it is out of stock.

I needed a GG also, so I caved and ordered it from Meguiar's E-Store. Shipping kinda ***** but I also picked up a water magnet which I couldn't find anywhere. Just try to order some other not so common things to try and defray the shipping costs. I did this with some other stuff a while back since I couldn't find even coat applicators for the life of me.

Walmart usually has the even coat applicators. They are carrying those now instead of the Gold Class foam applicators.

I was at pep boys today to look around. They have quite a bit of Meguiars. Even coat applicators also. I was looking for the xenon light, asked the guy that worked there, he called 2 other guys over, they never heard of it . I said its for detailing, you put it over the car and see the swirls. The one guy goes oh yeah, we don't carry that. I told him people in the forums said they got it here and they all just looked at me like i was speaking another language .

I have emailed Grit Guard before and it did take a couple days to receive a reply so hang tight. If I were to guess its a small company and the guy running it is very busy but very helpful in email.

So I went to Wal-Mart this morning and of course they don't have either the EC Apps or the foam apps. All they had was the off name brand ones that don't feel very nice. I guess this is what I get for living in Minnesota, no one is really that into detailing I guess (except me of course).
