  • Removing clay?

I clayed the whole car and at the end was left with a lot of smearing that was hard to remove. I applied GC wax on top, then when I wiped everything came off almost as easily as if I were just removing the wax. But I know that's probably not the best thing to do.

How should I go about it, should I work on a panel by panel basis? Clay, then wipe etc...?

It is best to do a panel and while it is still wet, wipe the panel off with a microfiber towel. If it is a little bit to dry just spray some quick detailer on the panel then wipe off.

Use lots of QD'er, IMO you can never have too much. For my truck I use an entire 16oz bottle of Quik Detailer. Paint cleaner should also remove the smeared Clay but better yet try your best not to get any smears.
