Can the wheel brightner be used on unpolished aluminum wheels? I have been using some Mothers Mag and aluminum polish and have been getting some great resulsts wiith it, when i use the polish i get a black residue on my terry towl and it cleans all the brake dust off my rims so then can the wheel brightner be used on my rims too?

On the back of my bottle it says not for use on polished aluminum and anodized wheels. You polish unpolished wheels? I've actually never seen unpolished aluminum so don't know what they look like. Got pics?

Well my aluminum wheels I think are unpolished aluminum wheels or I think they do not have a clear coat on them. Ill post up pics later on this weekend when I get a chance.

If you're using a metal polish to clean your wheels then they're polished aluminum wheels. I wouldn't recommend using the Wheel Brightner on them. It's acidic so you run the risk of staining them if product is left there too long. I'd recommend using the Hot Rims Multi-Piece Wheel Wash or car wash soap and water.

That is kind of like saying "if you are using a screwdriver to pry open a paint can, then the paint can is a screw."

People use things that aren't meant to be used for that task all the time. Using a certain product does not change what the wheels are made of.

I'd say that your best bet is to grab something over the counter to use on those wheels. From what I can tell in the picture they are clearcoated BUT the clear seems to be coming off if you look at the lip near the bottom of the picture.
