I've been trying to finish up a detail on my F-150 today and so far I've only washed and clayed it, and was trying to remove the minor swirls/scratches w/ a G100 and some #80. After doing the test spot I was a little
to find that the minor scratches/swirls were gone but there was micro marring on the side I used #80 with. On one side there's a shine and clarity in the paint except for the minor swirls I was going to remove, on the side I did the test spot there were no scratches or swirls, but there was micro marring causing it to look dull. I parked the truck inside my garage so It's not in direct sunlight a while before. Keep in mind I'm experienced with the G100 and have used #80 and had great results numerous times in the past. I used a new W8006 pad also. But I noticed that there's less buffing time than normal because it's still pretty hot in the garage, the panels are a little warm to the touch. Could this be the problem? The heat not letting the diminishing abrasives break down and causing the product to dry up to fast? But I was constantly checking to make sure I wasn't dry buffing but the product did dry up pretty quick. And I tried to take pictures so you guys could see but I have white paint, and I couldn't get anything to show up on the camera even with the Xenon. And it's about 95 degrees F btw inside the garage and 108 outside. So basically, what should I do and what do you guys think the problem is?
