  • GC Wax PITA to wipe off

Alright guys, I used the paint cleaner step one, then the polish, then the Gold Class Wax. The problem: I apply the wax and wait about 5 minutes and when I swipe my finger it takes the wax clean off so I know it's time it can be wiped off, but when I wipe it off it all comes off but leaves spots like you can see where it either wasn't wiped off, rubbed in or something like that. It's impossible to take pictures of it. I used some quick detailer and spray it on right after wiping off the wax and then wiped off and then the spots are gona but why is the wax doing this? Or what am I doing wrong? Should I wait even longer for the wax to dry?

It sounds to me that you're applying it too thick. Usualyl difficult removal means you're applying too thick. Generally speaking, when you apply, put like a nickel spot of wax on the applicator, and that should easily last the entire hood of the car. I then applied dime sized spots as needed to do the other panels. I've never heard of anything putting on too thin a coat -- usually if you think it's too thin, it's probably just right.

And it could take longer than 5 minutes as well. Depending on heat, humidity, etc, 10-15 minutes could well be needed.
