Ford Lightning Seats?

Anyone able to tell me what to use and anything about technique would be good. The seats in a Lightning are synthetic suede (like Alcantara) and what I think is leather (the black center sections) although that *may* be synthetic too.

I have a Lightning as well and have not been brave enough to attempt to clean them. My seats need a good cleaning and I was thinking something like APC+ or APC in my hoover steam vac. It was just a thought, nothing for sure yet. I have looked on a few other message boards trying to find someone who has cleaned them, haven't found anyone yet.

Just wondering if anyone has had further experience with these seats in the two years since this thread was just posted. This weekend's customer vehicle is a Lightning, and the seats are exactly like the picture above.

Alcantara.com suggests that the stuff can be machine washed, but obviously, that's not an option here.

My first thought is to simply brush them, dry, and vacuum, then make a second assessment. If they look like they need further attention, maybe something SUPER mild, like a mild woolite solution. Tested first in an inconspicuous area, of course.

As this stuff becomes more and more common on high end vehicles, surely someone's got a "proper" way to care for alcantara by now...? Maybe?

I never did brave cleaning them while I owned my Lightning... Sorry.

I've use GC Leather Spray on real and synthetic suede leather with a terry towel with no issues. Can't say it will work on everything, but just my experience with the synthetic stuff. *Test spot*

Start with warm water, then try a test spot with a 10:1 diluted APC+ if the water wasn't enough.
