The first thing is that fresh paint needs to cure for 30 - 90 days. Perhaps your paint shop said how long to wait?

If not, you will want to wait at least 60 days before waxing.

In the meantime, you can still wash, clay, clean, and polish it. One of the best things you can do is use #80, as it contains a protective polymer that is new-paint safe. It is not as durable as wax, but bette than nothing. It can be used by hand.

Once the paint has cured, you can do the standard 5-step process. I assume you are working by hand?
