You would be better with #80, #7, Nxt, Nxt. Remember 2 coats of wax is best.

      80+7+NXT would be best.

If NXT is applied after the #7 would it be safe to say that the #7 is *sealed*? Or will it still lose it's gloss before the car needs to be waxed again?

I have a white car and using #7, and then GC paste seems to give the best depth and shine. But I am going to try #7 and two coats of NXT next time to see how that works out for me. It's tough to make white look good!

Nxt will seal in the #7.

After washing a car, I think Nxt tnds to lose a little bit of its slickness, so I like to follow up with either a spray wax or a quick detailer.

But that is dealing with the Nxt, not the #7.

Thanks for the reply and links. I have always used GC paste until I went to a Megs. open garage and tried some NXT. I will be switching to that now. I also like how the #7 looks under the GC paste but havn't tried it under the NXT yet. The #7/GC combo really looks best after I wash it once. It looks good to me for a couple months or so and then starts to lose it's pop. Now with the car being outside more I am more weary of how it's protected and not only on how it shines.

My car basically lived in a garage unless it was actually being driven up until this summer. Now it sits outside while I'm working. This is about 100 yards from the ocean so it's constantly getting hammered with ocean mist and direct sun. It really freeks me out to tell you the truth!

I learned how to apply #7 at a Wednesday Night Open Garage, and here's my two cents worth of a tip:

When applying with a foam pad by hand, as you work it into a roughly 2'x2' area it will glide pretty easily at first. As soon as you feel it start to drag a bit stop applying it, grab a MF towel and wipe the area with only moderate pressure. You will NOT remove all the product with this pass. Turn the MF over and buff the remainder of #7 off. Move on to the next section.

I did my PT Cruiser by hand, in the garage so I was out of direct sunlight, and didn't even work up a sweat. I was actually surprised at just how easy #7 was to use, considering all the stories I'd heard about it be really difficult. As with everything else in this hobby, it's all down to technique.

What do you guys think of using #7 with a PC/ 9006? Do the entire car and follow up with a MF Bonnet? Or is by hand the entire way to go?
