  • Fairly bad case of paint overspray on new truck

Hello, many have suggested a Clay Bar kit is the only way to remove this safely.

Would the Smooth Surface Clay Kit work better, or the Quik Clay Detailing System ?

Stuff is on there pretty good, I got some of it to come off using xylene & hard rubbing , but that stuffs way too harsh to do the whole car with !

Is a clay bar kit my best option here ?
This is some kind of outdoor industrial paint, as far as I know. Nothing light duty like latex house paint or something a fingernail will scrape off..

    Thanks !

you won't notice a differnence as both of the kits are pretty much the same. The smooth surface kit has a M/F and a sample of cleaner wax included as well.

I think the the claybar is you best first choice!
    good luck

You still may need to do a bit of rubbing, and several passes with the clay. And definately get to it right away... it will only get harder to do the longer you wait. Hopefully you had some wax on there...

Do a search for 'overspray' on here, and you should find quite a few examples and photos.

Then just follow up with a good cleaner, polish, and wax.

I believe that the Smooth Surface Clay Kit has a more aggressive clay if I'm not mistaken, right? If so, always start with a less agressive approach and try the Quik Detailer Clay system first. If not, move on the Smooth Surface CLay Kit. If both clays are the same strength level, then use either.

Both the Smooth Surface Clay Kit and the QuikClay Kit are the same clay.

The Mild Detailer Clay is a touch more agressive, and of course the Agressive Detailer Clay is much more agressive.

Still, use plenty of the Quick Detailer that is provided, so you have plenty of lubrication.
