  • Liquid wax vs. Paste wax what is the difference?

Other than one being solid and the other being liquid.. what is reason for this? Is it just user preference? I did some searching but didn't come up with anything.
What are the pro's and con's of each?

Preferance, really. I used to use paste but switched to liquid. I used paste because turtle wax was paste and thats what my dad used and my husband used so thats what I used. Even when I learned better and started uing Megs products I kept using paste. Then I noticed that junk could get into the paste, then on the applicator-which could scratch my paint!! Also, this was about the time NXT came out (liquid only at first) and I decided to give it a shot even though I was happy with the GC. Even though I'm back using GC (not that NXT isnt good) I kept using liquid.

From my experience, which isn't too much, paste wax drys a lot quicker and IMO is easier to apply. Many people think liquid is easier, but that is just prefrence. Liquid is easier to apply evenly and is easier to get onto the applicator. I personally use paste because I can apply it thinner and therefore has a quicker drying time. Again this is all just an opinion and it comes down to prefrence. You should try both and see what you like best.

Liquid is easiler to apply by machine (orbital buffer/DA), though there is a thread somewhere here regarding how to apply paste by machine.

Its all about what your perfer. I choose what type of wax I'm going to use by what I feel like doing. I'll mostly use liquid (#21) because its the least complicated to apply, despite its awful smell. NXT is another close favorite, I like NXT even though its somewhat less durable than 21.

On short details I'll try and use some #16. I think its the eaiset wax to apply, and if you time it right, the eaisest to remove also.

Heck, sometimes I forget both liquid and paste, and use NXT Spray Wax!
