4 hours seems a little long, but I'd rather spend the time w/ this method than take steel wool to my glass. Glad it worked out for you.

I have read this post and a previous one about glass and wish that I would have had it about a year ago. I purchased a used 2002 truck that I think had been sold at an auction. On the windshield they had used a marking stick (for lack of the correct term) to list the year, A/C, power windows, etc. This would show up when damp (dew or when washing) and no amount or type of glass cleaner would cut it. You did not see it when the windshield was dry and it did not interferer with driving, but I knew it was there and it drove me nuts. On this year’s spring cleaning I had purchased #83 and #80 from Meguiar’s and decided to test a spot. The products worked fine. There was no scratching and the window is CLEAN. I had used rain x for years and thought that it was basically a wax and decided to try NXT wax on the windshield. It works fine. While driving, the wipers are not needed much since the water pretty much just slides right up the windshield (like it does with rain x). At the same time, the wipers do work fine on the waxed surface at slower speeds or when stopped.
Just my two cents.

Has anyone else ever put wax on their windows? Has this ever caused a problem? I mean I cant see one. Sounds like only benefits. I was just wondering that would certainly keep the glass from gettting as many water spots on there once you get them off.A realitycheck is a time in your life where you do a check of your heart. Wax on windows that move (side windows) tends to streak quite a bit. Water on windows w/ wipers (front/back) tends to chatter/streak. I only put wax on windows that don't move and don't get wiped. Meguiars NXT window cleaner gives a "just waxed" look to windows and avoids all of the above issues.1999 Ford Contour SVT

Re: Help, Water Stains
Here is my results with #4 Heavy Cut Cleaner, 3" wool cut SoftBuff pad and a 3/8 drill plate on my girlfriend's 03' Focus. All the windows were this way and nothing worked until this. All that was mentioned above cost me under $30 from ADS, shipped. It took me a couple of hours to do all the windows, and I mean all of them. I had to tape off the rubber window trim so it wouldn't get damaged by the process. I am very please with the results. Can't go wrong with this guys.

Rascal that is an awesome job man. Fantastic results. I am going to try and tackle that on my shower doors, hopefully this weekend. Unfortunately i'll be using the old elbow grease. May run to Lowe's and see if they have one of those drill things. That would really help alot. Thanks for an update on how great this stuff works. I've told my supervisor here at work about it and she said they needed something for their shower doors so we may have another meguiars customer soon, hehe.A realitycheck is a time in your life where you do a check of your heart. As for the wax on the windows, I used some GC on my windshield, however I had several small rock chips that were not visible before the wax, but of course were after the wax. Just something else to keep in mind before doing it, but it seems fine if the glass is in decent shape."Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week." Jay-Z

Re: Help, Water Stains
Alright another question. I was going to try and find one of those drill things but so far no luck. Still going to look at lowes tonight, but i thought of something just now. I have a sander its like a 6" i think but its a random orbit sander for wood and stuff. I have a polisher though that came with it. So would this work??? I think i remember mike phillips in the old thread about this #4 stuff on glass, needing to be applied with a rotary buffer and that a random orbital wouldnt work. I want to be positive on that though.A realitycheck is a time in your life where you do a check of your heart. A time you check where your relationship with God is and where it's going. Rascal any tips for using the drill polishing wheel? Where do you apply your product? etc? Thanks for the help bud.A realitycheck is a time in your life where you do a check of your heart. If you apply too much product, it will sling off and make a real mess. I put my product in an "X" shape on my wool pad. I spread it over the small section of window I'm about to work. This will cut down on any slinging of the product. I work the product in until it's almost dry and wipe off with a terry towel. Usually one pass will do the trick, but you may need to a second pass. Remember to work over into your finished section as you move around the window, this is so you won't have any missed spots. It's kind of like using the PC on your paint, overlap by 50%.You will have to clean out the wool pad after a few windows to remove any buildup. I usually spin the pad in both directions on a clean terry towel and then use my fingers tips while it's spinning as well. I would suggest you get ready to wash your car after you do your windows. The residue of #4 will get all over the car (abrasive part) and it's easier to wash it off with water. If you try to dry wipe with a MF towel, your asking for trouble. I used some GC wash and rewashed the car to make sure everything is nice and clean for my PC work on the paint later. If you have any questions, just let me know. Get some before and after pictures of your progress. I would like to see how you do.
