  • Wheel help?

So I just recently received these new used wheels, they were flithy. Just a little scrubbing and they cleaned up alright, unfornuately they have what seems to be major water spotting on all 4 wheels.

This phot is precleaning but for some reason it will not let me upload that picture.
Here is where I have trouble I do not know how to approach the spots because I can not figure out what these wheels are? Whether they are a polish aluminum and painted, without a clearcoat or with.

I dont want to risk damaging them as it took months for me to find some in my budget.

    What to do?

Start with Nxt Metal Polish. It is safe for clearcoated and metal surfaces.

If your applicator turns black, then they are uncoated metal, perhaps aluminum or another alloy. They dont strike me as chrome from the pic. But the polish will clean them up as well as possible by hand. You can use a bit of terry cloth to apply, or a Hi-Tec foam applicator. I just use an old white sock turned inside out.

If it stays clean, with just the polish color, then they are clear coated. You can continue to use the polish if you want, or you can switch and use any of the regular meguiars paint care products, like ScratchX, Deep Crystal #1, etc.

When you are done, you can always wax them some with Nxt, #20, or #21.
