  • diluting?

Ok, this probably is a stupid question and maybe im just to tired. But i never diluted stuff before, usually it just came, and I sprayed it on. Now i'm seeing for instance.... APC, people say to dilute it 4:1 ....7:1 and so on. Does it say how much to dilute or is it just common knowledge. Is that like 4 ounces to a gallon of water( 7 to a gallon of water)? For example, i am going to get the APC 32 oz sampler bottle. How do i dilute it. Pour 7 ounces into the 32 oz? Or do i get the gallon with the bottle on the side. I will probably be smacking myself over the head when someone tells me this thinking duh i knew that.

Diluting someting like APC 4:1 means 4 parts water and 1 part APC = 5 parts of diluted APC. For a 32 oz bottle that means. 6,4 oz of APC and 25.6 oz water. But if I remember correctly there are marks on the side of the bottle that show you how much you should put in there for different dilution rates.

      It's X PARTS WATER : X PARTS APC

      4:1

      4 oz. water / 1 0z. APC

      4 gal. water / 1 gal. APC

      etc.

        4:1
        amount of water: undiluted product
4 parts water: 1 part product

Once you get the apc bottle it'll have a 4:1 marking
You'll fill it up with water to that mark
Then add enough undiluted apc in the bottle till it reaches the seam just above where the label ends.
So if you think about it, there's 4 times more water than undiluted apc.

It comes pure... they basically just put 32oz out of the 1 gallon jug and ship it out to you.

You wont go wrong with any size APC, it can be used for anyting aound the house. But if you order the "APC spray bottle"-(Green label, comes with markings on), then get the foaming sprayer head as well to go with it. Really helps out in wheel wells, etc so the product at least doesnt all run off right away.

Thanks. I think my best option is to get a gallon of the APC +. Then an empty 32 oz bottle with the foam sprayer. One thing though, i was reading through the forums and i was seeing people say that APC plus was discontinued. On ADS, next to the APC plus it says its "new". Is this a new kind or something?

There is a new version of APC+ out, its limited distribution. I bought some from ADS my self and really like it. As for the foaming sprayer, 2hotford(aka Tim) told me to get the "standard sprayer" as the APC+ was designed as a low foam product.

It would be good idea to get secondary bottles marked already to make it easy for you. We offer bottles that are marked to help you out. Here's an example of the APC bottle. Fill it up where the desired dilution ration with water and the rest of the bottle with product.

                        EDIT - disregard post.

F-150 - I was using Home Depot bottles that have the 4:1 mark at the bottom, opposite that of the APC bottles

Are you sure they weren't 1:4? (I don't know exactly what the deal with that is.

BTW the sample is undiluted apc, so you should get another bottle and don't forget to get the 1 gallon dispensers if you do buy a gallon.
