  • New paint job for hood/fenders/bumpers:

How long should I wait until I start polishing/waxing with the PC7242? My car came out of the paint shop on Saturday.

Cure time is between 30 - 90 days for waxing. I believe you can start polishing right away. As long as the polish does not offer any sort of sealing or protection, you are okay.

It's best to check with the body shop of when you can wax... they'd know better, as all car ovens reflect cure time differently...

    Typically it's between 30-90 days.

Just to add, you can use a product like #80 right away. It is a cleaner/polish, but also has a protective polymer in it that is new-paint safe. It is not durable like wax or anything, but if applied a few times over the 30-90 days, is better protection than nothing.

You do not want to use any sort of wax/sealant on fresh paint.
