  • Hand Polish # 81

    Hello,

I am thinking about applying a coat of #81 to my # 21. Any thoughts yes or no. Also, in adding #81 would it enhance the color a bit and how long would #81 last when sealed with #21?

#81 is a pure polish, so it will wear off very quickly if not covered with a sealant/wax. With it covered, it will last as long as the wax. And #21 seems to last a good length of time.

As far as using a polish, a polish will help smooth out any little imperfections, so to add some depth and gloss, esp to dark colors.

#81 is going to give results similar to DC#2, if you have any experience with it.

Honestly i have no experience with #81. Any tips on how to apply this product. I am using a PC/9006 pad.

I have a rotary and pc but i prefer to use 81 by hand I feel I can get it applied and removed quicker and easier. Make sure to apply it super thin rub it a little bit wipe it off as soon as possible hope that helps. Greg

Apply A thin bead of product on the outer edge of the pad, run the PC at 3.5-4.0 spped, work the product on a 2x2 foot area thoroughly until it becomes a thing film, then wipe off while it's still fresh. Try to clean the pad by pressing a cotton terry towel against the pad every other pass to ensure a thing coat is being applied. Applying too much product makes the finish look oily and cloudy. So its important that you dont saturate the pad too much with product.

I frequently use a #81 prior to a Wax(NXT and recently #21) and I wouldn't be with out it! But as mentioned above its easier to see different results on darker colors.
