  • What's the deal with Medallion Paint Cleaner again?

I was at a PBE shop the other day and I saw MPPC on the shelf and the guy said they'll be getting more in since there's only one bottle left. But I thought it was discontinued and just curious and asked if it worked any better than other paint cleaners and what made it so special. And he just said it's better and didn't describe any qualities though. Anyone know why it was discontined, what makes it a good product, and what's your take on the product if you've used it? Same w/ MPPP

It was discontinued due to CA environmental regulations.

MPPC is an outstanding paint cleaner! I had some etching from bird droppings that Scratch X could not touch. Even #83 with a G-100 did not remove them. I used MPPC by hand with some passion and it took the etching right out.

If you can get your hands on some MPPC, go for it!

MPPP is a great product too. It has anti-static properties, gives a great depth and reflectivity, and is very durable.

While the product is discontinued in the US by Meguiar's, this doesn't mean distributor and retailer warehouses are emptied of the product.
See the big picture, enjoy the details

I bought it and have used it to spot treat so far. It's worked for everything I've used it for. Removes bonded contaminants pretty well, like (I'm not sure but I have a white truck and on the sides looks like what could be brake dust that's bonded to the finish) that was removed quickly. Definately worth it. But don't see a performance difference between MPPC and DC1 yet . I'm sure MPPC is stronger though.

And I have just a few questions about this product.
Even though it was discontinued for certain reasons, it's still completely safe to use on both single stage and clear coat finishes, correct? And from what I know, it's a chemical cleaner with diminishing abrasives? It's a fairly aggressive cleaner but can safetly be used frequently without taking away too much paint and clear coat, lets say once every 3-6 months? It can be applied using the G100 with the W8006 polishing pad?

I have used the MPPC with a PC white great results. This was on a white mustang. The product works in really well without drying to fast with a PC. I am almost out of MPPC, but the store I bought it from has another bottle. I was thinking about picking it up. I have not used the DC-1 yet, but I do have a bottle of it.

MPPC is more aggressive than DC#1, and #9. It does have diminishing abrasives and will remove light to moderate swirls. And it works very well with the PC. It is less aggressive than #83. Not sure about how it compares to #80, but MPPC does not have much in the way of TS polishing oils. It is totally safe for clear coat and single stage paints.

MPPC was discontinued because it was not compliant with new CA VOC regulations.
