  • Any ADS discouts out there?

So I was shopping on ADS and my shopping cart ended up being $200! Anyone know if there are any discount codes?

  • #2
NO! I E-mailed ADS last week and they said there prices are so low that you don't need a discount code .

Remember, in order to stay in business, you have to do good business, this means making a profit. If you don't make a profit you go out of business and that's called doing bad business.

We live in an age of the Wal-Mart mentality where everyone wants everything for as cheap as they can get it. Nothing wrong with that but just like you want to have a nice income to buy a house and have a good quality of life, so does everyone else, including Rick Meyers.

Businesses have to make a profit or they go out of business. Support companies that support you through either their products or in the case of this forum... their service.

      Thanks!

yea there is actually no discount needed on ads. the prices are so low, too bad they only ship around the usa.

be happy with that, i have to pay about 2x more here in europe for most things. there are like 5 microfiber towels still cheaper than only !1! here!!! especially for the microfiber prices, there cant be much profit, so be happy to get such prices

You're absolutely right, Mike. I was just having this conversation with a friend the other day. Wal-Mart, Home Depot, etc give us the "I can find it cheaper" mentality. Take the following example:

A household telephone costs $50 at most places around town. You accept this price as fair. Wal-Mart comes a long and has phones for $20, $25, etc. Even though these phones are of much cheaper quality than the $50 phone, most people will now look at the $50 and consider it expensive (even though it was previously considered a fair price).

This was an easy example becasue there were two different phones of different qualities.

Now, Wal-Mart also has the same exact phone for $42. What are you to do? Well, Wal-Mart has successfully decreased the price of the phone by $8, but by what means? Without getting into a discussion about ethics, you get my point.

My argument was geared towards the cheaper, $25 phone vs. the quality $50 phone, but I threw in the $42 example in case anyone brought it up as an argument. Whether you choose to spend $42 or $50 is your call, it's a free country.

I do what I can to support local business, but I also have to look in my wallet. for 8 bucks, I'd stick with the local guy.

In the case of ADS, I just found the website a few weeks ago and there is no reason for discounts as the producst are already discounted on their "regular" prices. And even if the prices were identical to another place, I'd still shop with Rick because of his reputation. Speaking of which, I'm about to place my first order with him this week...I was planning on just a G100...but there will be much, much more than that in my cart

Thanks guys. Yeah, I don't mind spending the money on a reputable company and it's good to see so much support here on Megs for ADS.

I personally would rather buy from a mom and pop store vs. at Walmart b/c I don't agree with a lot of their business decsions.

At any rate, it will be a good $200 spent.

ADS is super cheap already i'm not sure as to why you'd be asking for more.

i mean if me spending $200 US on ADS that would save me like $300 CAD trying to get the same product here in Canada or on other websites.

                RIck is soooooooooooooooooooo ridiciolously cheap.

Moved out of Hot Topics and into Detailing 101

Please don't post anything in the Hot Topics forum, we move topics that become hot into that forum as a holding tank of sorts, we don't encourage or allow members to post their questions in the Hot Topics forum, in most cases Detailing 101 will work fine.

                  Thanks!

Ah gotcha thanks . Are these as good as meguiars or are they just like the ones you see in walmart, etc. Anyone have these? Might get these for interior and door jams and such.

for door jams they should be alright.

i guess its perference as to what towel to use for door jams but some use Terry Cloth.

i think i like terry cloth b/c its a little tougher to get the grime and etc...

ask Rick, orjust buy one maybe and do the CD test.
