  • keyed car

about a year ago someone took a key and keyed my car.
i tried to put some touch up paint on the area but i only end up making it more noticeable.
is there anyway i can remove the touch up paint that i already applied on?
would meguiars scratch x remove the the excessive paint?
    thanks
    mike

    Scratch-x I don't think will touch.

You could try wet sand and buff with pc/rotary or try a product called langka I think. I've never used Langka yet but did read some good reports.

    Good luck

this is one of the more thorough guides ive seen on this subject, though if the key scratches are really big/deep it would be difficult/impossible to acheive the same level of ....not noticing... for lack of a better term as you can with chips.

See if you can find someone who does air brush touching. We found a lady locally who does this, who is just amazing. If the scratch is deep enough she adds some filler to it, then she has something like 100 different toners she uses to match the color, air brush's it then after it's cured some comes back with a buffer. For the $60 - $75 she charges it makes a rough car look nice.

Right now we have my doctors Accord at my house to try and sell it (he has no time to answer a phone) it had been keyed by a disgruntled patient over a year ago and we had it air brush touched and you can't tell it was keyed unless you get like 2 inches from it. I know what your experiencing with the touch up paint, never looks that great.
