  • Dirty Vinyl, need product

I am helping a guy over the net to get all the right products to clean his car inside and out. He has shown me an image of the vinyl around the armrest, and it seems that it could use some form of a vinyl cleaner.

I was wondering if there is a consumer-brand Meguiar's (or equivalent) vinyl cleaner. Looking for a product that can be picked up from autozone.

    Here is the image:

    Hi there,

I like to use APC @ 10-1 and for really heavily soiled areas I use it at 4-1 and it really does work well.........after that I wipe down with clean water then apply a vinyl/plastic dressing like #40

PS I have seen the other thread which talks about #40 streaking when used on the exterior.......I can't comment as I don't use #40 on the exterior!

I would use #39 followed by QID both are available from NAPA.

I've used soap and water to clean vinyl before. It took off all the dirt in the soiled areas, then I applied some protectant. (I use Lexol stuff as I have a big bottle I bought years ago before I found the Meguiars addiction and it's always worked really well for me.)

If it is really oily or greasy, you might want to use the APC someone above mentioned.

I use M40 for lightly soiled and M39 for very dirty vinyl. Woolite (1:6 dilution) also works well for cleaning soiled areas. M39 is the best cleaner I've ever used.

if it has a slight grain to it i would use a mr clean magic eraser with the 39 they work wonders just be sure to not use it on any smooth scratchable surface. Greg
