scratch/polish/cleaner/wax/wash

Hi all!

It´s spring time, and what a good time!...
It´s time to give my Audi urS6 a grooming.

-the plan:
-ScratchX for remowing swirls and small scratches.

-Polish DC#2 (recommended by fellow Meguiar´s formum users -for more life to my dark green paint)

-Gold class liquid wax

I currently use NXT Generation purple car wash.

Have some questions regarding keeping the car nice when it´s done.
-Up here we often use an emulgating fluid to remove dirt and asphalt on the paint. But this breaks down the wax job. What do u guys use when the car gets really dirty? Just sponge right on?

Any modifications to what I should use on my car is welcome. I´ve got quit a lot of swirlmarks and automatic carwash-scratches. -So I guess it´ll be a good long grooming time for me and my Audi... But I call it "Quality time"

I´ll be doing some before/after shooting of course...

Read the following. In terms of maintaining between waxes its best to use like a QUIK DETAILER. don't just use a sponge to wipe off dust, i'd just wash it off. dirt and other contaminants could attach to the sponge and scratch the car. and we don't want that now right.

i'd probably wash the car, clay it, and then go from there as to what you wanna do to polish and protect.

A few questions:
Can you use water on the clay bar instead of quik detailer? Will this give a good result?

Should I use scratchx before or after paint cleaner? And after this polish, then wax, right?

You can use a carwash soloution, meaning a quality carwash, like NXT Generation Car Wash and water. But IMO its best to use Quik Detailer, its inexpensive and easy to find(atleast in the US) its the best option.

You don't have to use both a dedicated cleaner and ScratchX. ScratchX is a paint cleaner.

Using the products you listed:
1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Wash (this is optional but I like to do a quick wash after claying)
4. Cleaner (ScratchX )
5. Polish (Deep Crystal Polish)
6. Wax (Gold Class Clear Coat Car Wax)

Quik Detailer´ll cost me about $25-$30 pr. bottle...... Wish I lived in the US..

I´ll try to get my hands on some meguiar´s polish today and i´m good to go.

you can also use DC#1 for cleaner if you don't have a lot of scratchs that you want to repair and what not.

Can you get any of the Detailer Line there or Professional Line? They come in larger quantities, so might be cheaper in the long run.
