it looks more like a big white scuff.

how deep is it? can you feel it with your nail? if its not deep at all then it might just be paint transfer and you will be able to get rid of it with DC1, if its not paint transfer and is a light scratch you will be able to get rid of it with scratchX and lots of "passion behind the pad"

I am going to suggest just going directly to ScratchX for that.

I have used DC1 before and well ScratchX seems like a stronger cleaner, yet it has been safe on everything I have used it on. ScratchX is not abrasive. Well it may be on teh microscopic level, but you can't feel it.

ScratchX is definitly paint safe and would be faster. Providing your paint is in tact and not missing i.e. scrached off, ScratchX should be able to fix it.

ScratchX is one of my favorite Meguiar's prodcuts. IT is a very strong, safe cleaner.

If your paint is contaminated, scratchx will break down and help you remove the contaminates.

but what about the Meguiar’s Philosophy

"Always use the least aggressive product to get the job done"

you can always step up to ScratchX if DC1 doesn't work but I like to give the lesser aggresive products a try first
because"You never know what you can do until you try" even if he end up needing ScratchX

            Yeah yeah I know.

            Use the weakest product first.

I just tend to think that ScratchX is so safe that it can easily be used as a cleaner. It definitly won't cause harm.

Maybe I am just lazy, but I know ScratchX will be faster and I know that buying 1 product is cheaper than buying both. Besides, he will find many uses for ScratchX. I love the stuff.

None the less, a pure polish such as Deep Crystal 1 may be just what is neended. It would certainly not hurt to try it.

            I would do the following:
            1. Either wash the area or spray it with Quik Detailer and wipe it clean before doing anything.

            2. It might not be a bad idea at all to clay the area. It may even fix the problem.

            3. Now it is time to use some kind of cleaner either DC1 or ScratchX. Use something.

            4. Use a Wax with polish in it to protect the area. Gold Class or NXT will be fine.

              good stuff
just a note that DC1 is a Paint Cleaner, DC2 is a pure polish

              I don't know why i am not a ScratchX fan, i really like DC1 and M80 :p

                hi

okay thanks for the replies thus far.

                1. this is the thing. its not deep at all. you can't even feel it. so i'm saying its paint transfer. a big scuff mark.

                2. this is my method order

                wash
                clay
scratch X - yes sneek with LOTS OF PASSION in a 6 x 6 area at a time
                then maybe DC1
                NXT wax

that should be good don't you think?

How to put pictures into your messages

Also, I think DC1 is strictly a chemical cleaner meaning it has no abrasives so it won't do anything for scratches. Since you can't feel it though, DC1 might work since it can be paint transfer.
