I know they both are made differently, that's why I assumed the grittiness of the #2 would be more helpful when working on hard paint, then working down to #83, #80, maybe #82 or #9, what ever I feel is needed..

Never argue with an Idiot.. They'll only drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience..
I think #2 is for rotary use only..........and as I don't have a rotary I can't comment.
What I can say is that I find #83 great with the PC and normally only use it on areas I think need it as opposed to the entire car........that get's #80
