Okay with Scratch X, you only apply to the areas needed right?

so you:

1. Wash the car and dry nicely
2. use scratch x either by hand or with G100 (what pads do I use if i use the G100 and any bonnets)

you are not supposed to use ScratchX by hand why not try M83 or heavy swirls and M80 for lighter swirls.

I believe ScratchX is most effective by hand because it requires you to put a lot of "passion" or direct pressure onto a small area. The pads on a G100 are too big to put enough pressure on a smaller area as opposed to your hand.

Yeah--I would double check all advice on the forum unless it is from a Meg Admin, Moderator, or a few others, but it will take you a while to learn who "the few others" are. Not that there isn't a lot of correct info, just that following something that is not correct, thouggh inadvertence or otherwise, can have dire consequences for your paint!

yes i'd be willing to bet that Sneek meant by hand. he has some solid advice as i know from PMing him and asking him plenty of questions.

and yes i was thinking about that passion part and how a G100 wouldn't let you do that.

sorry, i can just apply the Scratch X with a Gold Class applicator right or what should i use?

i'll use Megs MF to remove and then MF to buff. that is correct i believe.

or can i use a machine to remove (what pad)?

The instructions on the tube are pretty straight forward....except for the fact that it says "let it dry" DON'T let it dry. I've used it with a foam applicator and just wiped off with a MF towel with good results. After that, I cleaned with a bit of QD and then re-waxed the area.

if you CLAY BAR, when should you do it. before or after SCRATCH X.

i would say before so that the surface is completly clean right?

As for ScratchX, Unfortunately the information on the back of the tube is not entirely correct. The best proper use of the product is by hand only. The correct directions for using the products are:
1. Apply ScratchX to a High-Tech Foam applicator pad, product amount should be proportionate to about a half dollar coin.
2. Work product into paint surface, or over a specific scratch, in a 1-2 square foot area, until the product starts to haze. When the product begins to haze, stop and wipe it off with a Supreme Shine Microfiber Towel before the product dries.
3. Re-evaluate the surface and continue the application process until the surface is on-par with expectations.

clay before paint cleaning. also, i like to use terry cloth instead of the foam applicator because it has more bite.
