  • Cleaner on with ROTARY, off with ???

Well, I was going to try the ol' "wax on, wax off" saying, but I know wax shouldn't really be applied nor removed with a rotary.

Having said that, once you put some cleaner or polish ON with a rotary, does it come off with a rotary as well? Or would a PC/Orbital/Hand be better?

(sorry for the questions, just trying to understand things a LITTTTTLE better)

Wiping off with something like a Supreme Shine MF towel, or high quality terry cloth towel is good, and usualy easiest.

      awesome, thanks!

So buffing off isn't a good idea then? I had figured as such, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

If you remove wax or any product using a rotary buffer it will leave swirls or holograms in the paint.

Thanks for the info Mike. That's most likely what happened when someone that "knew what they were doing" took a buffer to my car years back.

Fortunately I worked at autozone at the time, and could fund the amount of scratch-X I needed to clear the swirls up some. I wish I had pics of it, it was BAD.

Let's just say my car NEVER saw that much passion before
