Actualy, this would be the better order:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay if needed
    3. ScratchX
    4. Cleaner/wax
    5. Wax

    6. Spray Wax etc after other washings.

What you want to do is follow these steps:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Clean
    4. Polish
    5. Wax
    6. Maintain

    Your order was like this:

    1. Wash
    2. Clay
    3. Clean -> Polish -> Wax
    4. Clean
    5. Wax
    6. Maintain

You can see how you were a little out of order.

hmmm so it should be like this.....

        1.wash
        2.clay
        3.scratch-x
        4.cleaner wax
        5.wax

i also noticed that you were saying both scratch-x AND colorX....did you mean both? which one would be better???

Well.. lets just say I have both... They both have their place.

ScratchX is a fairly agressive cleaner, and is the only way to try and remove medium swirls/scratches. It is also very time intensive, and your arms will fall off after the car is done.

ColorX will not remove things as severe, but is easier to use. It is also 3-steps in one, cleaner/polish/wax.

Remember, single step products will almost always work better than multi-step products.

That is why I follow up a with a pure wax after ColorX, in order to get the best looks/protection from the wax.

So you are certainly welcome to use ScratchX to take advantage of its cleaning properties, followed by either cleaner/wax, either the Cleaner/Wax or ColorX. Hopefully you wont be using ScratchX more than every so often on small areas after this first time.

I hope that helps? Or ask some more...

It might be worth noting we were suggesting to replace the Cleaner/Wax (in the red bottle) with ColorX. Not replace ScratchX with ColorX, or at least I was. Just in case there was any confusion along the way.

And here i thought I was clearing things up... oh well...

                  1. Wash
                  2. Clay as needed
                  3. ScratchX
                  4. Cleaner/Wax or ColorX - Pick one, no big deal which. Might as well use the small sample up first.
                  5. Wax

                  6. Maintain
