    Hi Brad S 2,

    Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

    A couple of things,

First wash the car very well. Get every part of the car as clean as possible. This will cleaning, conditioning and protecting all of the components and car finish easier.

Next, inspect the finish for bonded contaminants. Run your clean, dry hand over some of the horizontal surfaces. If you feel little bumpy things, you need to clay your car.

Then, apply the Scratches by hand to the entire finish using a piece of terry cloth towel. (Cut up an old bath towel that is 100% Cotton).

Work one section at a time overlapping each section for good, thorough even results. Take your time doing this step because your end-results will be determined by how well you clean the paint. Do not wait for the ScratchX to dry like a wax before removing. It is not a wax, but a paint cleaner and after you have worked it ingot the finish you can remove it.

After applying and removing the ScratchX, you can if you want apply a polish like the Deep Crystal Step 2 Polish. This is an optional step that usually only is real noticeable on medium to dark colored cars.

After polishing the car's finish, then apply you wax or paint protectant. Apply a thin, even coating and allow 10 to 15 minutes to dry, then remove. If you have time, then apply a second coat and follow the above same recommendations.

You car's finish should be at about 80$ to 80% of it's maximum potential without using a machine.

    Hope this helps...
