A PC or Porter Cable Dual Action Polisher is just that an "orbital buffer" its a random motion that produced little heat and it will not harm paint and anyone can use a PC un-like a rotary that spins in one constant direction and can produce heat and burn paint. Meguiars Dual Action Polisher is the same as the Porter Cable in fact its manufactured by Porter Cable. The Meguiars PC comes with a Lifetime warrenty and the backing plate needed to use the meguiars polishing pads.

Check this page out on Meguairs site... and watch the "Power Polishing Clinic" it will give you some great info on the use of a PC and shows you what one is.

I used pretty much the same products on my 91 Ranger, whch is a blueish silver (clay bar, step 1, step 2, gc), really made it shine. Since silver and other light colors arent as "deep" as some darker colors (like my car), it can be hard to make them "pop" as much. I really liked the results I got though.

One thing I suggest-get the Microfiber towels. I put it off for a long time-finally gave in and got them over the winter. Did my first real detail on my car over the weekend-there is no comparison to the terry. I got mine from advance auto parts-pk of 3 for $5-6, which can help when it comes to a budget. I washed them before I used them, just in case they came into contact with something while on the shelves (dust, dirt, who knows!).....
