  • Bird Etch

First off...I have NO idea what these birds eat but it's driving me insane I've looked around this great forum and took the advice of using Scratch X..maybe I just don't have enough patience (or just being way too picky) but after about 5-6 runs it's still pretty obvious at a right angle. I was wondering if you experts could help me out...so i took some pics. Do you think if i went to a detailing business (SoCal) they could do a better job? Thanks

so you already read the thread on ScratchX and it didn't work?
try working it in really really well with "passion behind the pad" if that doesn't work then you might have more luck with a PC and #83

you could try taking it to a SoCal detailer

Thanks for the welcome and input. Yes I read the (may I add really thorough and great) posting on ScratchX. I will definately try using some more "passion" and see how much love I can get Meanwhile if anybody knows a good socal detailer it would be greatly appreciated.

There some etching that are just too much, that being said I'm pretty sure yours is not one of them. If you find after using scratch-X your not affecting it, you will need to find a DA, or more likely a Rotary detailer to assit you.

I had an atomic bird bomb dropped on my jeep while I was on vacation last summer. Needless to say, Its sadly stuck there. I've been over it with wetsand paper and Its gotten the best of me, yet I cannot justify a repaint when 99.998% of the rest of the car's paint is perfect...

look in the lower left corner.

Goodness--wetsand paper did not take it down?

            IT WORKS!

Haha wow well I guess that defines an "atomic bird bomb". Well good news is that after some tremendous amount of "passion" with a terry cloth and a very very liberal amount of scratchX...it's practically invisible. I'll definately take pictures tomorrow. I have used Meg products for about a year now...but this has definately topped all of my other experiences. Thanks guys and keep up the good work

BTW There is this one etching that I still need to get rid of...but yea I am too short so I can't reach that top middle portion of the F150 hood. Well I can but not well enough to rub it down real well. My point? either the truck is too high or i'm too short..i'm leaning towards the latter.
