What is the material difference between a pad for glazing or waxing. Does it really matter which one you use? I bought a PC and it came with foam pads. I am not really sure what application these pads are for.

Of the three different types of pads I have, yellow tends to be a cutting pad, white polishing and blue is a finishing. However, I have another finishing pad that isn't blue. So knowing who made them will be key in figuring it out.

For Meguiar's pads:
9006 Finishing Pad (Peach)
-the softest foam used for LSP
8006 Polishing Pad (yellow)
-has cutting action to remove minor paint defects so used with paint cleaners, DACP, polishes
7006 Cutting Pad (red)
-hardest of the 3 and has the most cutting action
-not recommended by Meguiar's to be used with the PC, but most people use it with the microfiber bonnet to remove wax
