  • Swirls in glass...?

    Hello,

I recently noticed that I had some minor swirls in my glass and I just found this very strange. From my understanding glass is extremely hard and should not be easily scratched like a clear coat. I remember reading the post by Mike Philips where he speaks about using #4 with a foam cutting pad and a Rotary buffer to deep clean the glass. However, he never mentioned that there were swirls in the glass, he was simply using #4 to due to the larger diminishing abrasives that it contains to really cut into the film buildup on the glass.

So my question would be, how can I get rid of these swirls, or is it impossible to remove them?

    Thanks.

I think the Pro's will chime in later, but from my understanding and research here on this forum, I do believe there is a company that makes products to polish and correct glass related problems.

Yes I am familiar with the EastWood Company, I actually have one of their product catalogues. I will wait for one of the pros to chime in, however I am still not understanding how those swirls got there.

Was the windshield ever cleaned with steel wool, nylon scrubbie or cleanser? If it was with the above or another type of strong abrasive item IMHO that may be the cause of the swirls. BTW the glass polishing procedures described on this site do work very well. The sunlite will teel the tale of proper optic clarity. Good luck.
