brand new G35 Coupe 6MT with bad swirls

My civic was stolen so I had to buy a new car sooner than I had planned and didn't have the luxury of driving from dealer to dealer finding one that had what I wanted on the lot. I was set on black-on-black so they had to drive my car up from their sister dealer about 50 miles away and for some reason that took about 5 hours and I was delivered the car in the dark. The car had a couple of scratches on it and the salesperson told me they would take care of it when I brought the car back to have the mudguards installed. They told me it was going into "paint" and called me about 4 days after I dropped it off, letting me know that the wrong lojack was installed, the wrong mudguards were installed, but that I could pick up the car. Well the hood looked worse than it did when I dropped it off, even the service guy said it looked like the holograms were 3 inches deep. So they kept it for another 4 days and finally got the right lojack installed but still no mudguards. Anyhow, the hood looked much better but still full of swirls as I will show below. My question is this - they had the car for over a week but didn't paint the hood as I could still find the scratch - what the hell were they doing? I will be writing the GM a letter but am pretty sure I won't get anything out of it and I sure don't want them taking my car again so I am on my own to make my BRAND NEW car look like new. I would exchange the car if I could. If anything, I learned to not sign any papers or pay any money until I can see the car in the light and let them know NOT to wash it. I assumed a brand new car I would not have problems like these. Anyhow, I already own the DA G100a but need new product and I want to do it correct from the start. The pads I have are softbuff w9006 and w8006 and was hoping to not have to buy any other pads. I've been searching these forums all day and based on what I have found I was going to purchase (the reason I am even asking instead of just taking the advice I have already read is because this is for a brand new car):

80 Speed glaze or 82 Swirl free polish - you guys tell me which one or do I need both?

83 DACP

Maybe 07 show car glaze?

?? You guys fill in the blank...

I would love to buy every product Meguiar's sells but that just isn't financially feasible

I've already got tons of waxes but was thinking about picking up a bottle of NXT or 26.

Keep in mind I would like to remove the swirls and not just cover them up.

its so depressing seeing those. anyhow, because it is not related to this topic I did not include pictures of what is left of my old car, however, if interested you can go to my gallery and see my honda civic coupe that i owned and loved for 10.5 years before it was stolen and raped, and see pictures of what the engine bay looked like after the police recovered the vehicle in south central los angeles.

anyways, I appreciate in advance the advice Mike and anybody else can give me to fix my brand new car, ugh!

Sorry to hear of your misfortune.. and the other misfortune.. and the other one... and the other one...

With already having the G100, just make sure you have 1 pad per product. You might even want clean pads, esp starting off, to get the most cleaning power out of them.

One my shelf, I would want #83 (applied with 8006 pad), #80 (applied with 8006 pad), and #21 (applied with 9006 pad). If you want a pure polish, #7 would be a good choice.

#83 is the strongest cleaner for the G-100.
#80 is in the middle.
#82/#9 is the mildest.

that is the worst case of DISO ive ever seen....those swirls are like those of 2yr old negalected cars....

but anyways...... for me.... facing a finish w/ that much swirls.... i'd just take 83 to the whole car and then 80 when the swirls get pretty minor....80 and 83 are both cleaner polish so theres polish so #7 is optional but it will add an extra pop to the shine...... then i'll do NXT last.....

but im no expert so i might be wrong....

hey thanks for the replies guys. i think i'm gunna start off with 80, 82, and 83 and take it from there since i have a ton of other misc product layin around. i'm also waiting to hear from the dealer as i wrote them a letter but i'm not holding my breath. either way i will come back to this thread to update... thanks again

I would have agreed with benhui86 about the #83, but I really think you should try the #80 first. I bought #83, #80 and #21 for my '04 Mustang and ALMOST did the whole car that way until I watched this video Mike did on a 1960 Vette with a swirl condition as bad if not worse than my car and he did the whole car with nothing but #80 and NXT. Many people say start with the mildest first and see if that removes your defects before getting into more agressive products.

Convinced? I am. So, to answer your question, use some #80 with your W8006 pad, USING SLOW ARM SPEED (biggest rookie mistake) allow the abrasives to break down, then get you some NXT for use with the W9006. YOU WILL LOVE IT!! NXT IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT. Recently I have switched up to #21, but that is a different topic.

FWIW--Lexus screwed up my paint so badly making repairs on a new car with some defects on delivery that they wound up giving me a new one. It took four months, an expert evaluation and some legal convincing.

As an aside, when I picked up the new car, they agreed not to wash it. I watched their swirl department at work on other cars. It was spine chilling. One wash bicket and a big long handled brush with plastic bristles on the end and they were going at it like they were mopping a floor.

Hope things work out. If it is just swirls you will be OK. But if you are nre at this, you might want to have a professional do it, and then just maintain it yourself. There are technique issues involved. Mike and the other pros didn't get where they are professionally by just buying a DA and some product--they have a lot of experience behind them. I am thinking here of your mental health in having your car "right" as soon as possible. I suffered for months and really couldn;t do anything myslef on that car, because I wanted it to be their responsibility. If I had started messing with it, it would have beceome my problem.

PLEASE tell me you haven't filled out the factory customer satisfaction survey yet. Dealers live and die by these things. I'd never use it as a club or in a threating way, but as a last resort, I'd quietly mention that I know how important they are to the dealer and that I want to give 100% marks across the board. It's not logical, but less than 100% on the survey is bad news for dealers.

So, I'd visit the dealership first and ask to speak to their customer relations rep or whoever fills that function. Infiniti is an upscale brand. What I'd ask for is them to be responsible for having a detailer I trust fix the problem. I'm not in Los Angeles but isn't there some guy from Covina on the forum here with a great rep?

I'd even be happy to take a dealer credit or some other-than-cash settlement. If they aren't helpful, blast 'em on the CS survey, (but only in the areas they screwed up on), write the GM and owner, even Infiniti.

Even if they won't make good, I'd still deliver it to Superior for repair and when he was done, I'd pretend I was taking delivery for the first time.

thanks again guys for all the replies. i don't understand why dealerships don't take the time to teach their guys who wash the cars how to properly take care of them... you'd think they want these cars looking as good as possible, they are afterall rolling advertisements for their dealership (until you take off their license plate frame that is).
